My day job is as a software sales rep for a technology company in Silicon Valley. This year, I made President’s Club which means an all-expense-paid trip to Canada. The perfect excuse to experience vacationing in Whistler B.C. (Canada). The trip is four days so I’ll share my Vacation Review of Whistler Canada and overall take.

Air Canada (Express)

The Travel Buddy and I decided to catch the non-stop flight to Whistler via Air Canada. It was an easy 2-hour flight however, Air Canada’s express jet is a small plane. The plane is essentially 4 seats in a row; the window seat, the aisle seat, the aisle, the aisle seat, and the window seat. That’s right seats ABCD and 27 rows. I’m familiar with the number of rows because we were seated in the last row without a window next to the bathroom. The airplane stewardess in the back was nice enough to let us sit on the opposite side which had a window, putting the bathroom across the row and behind us, which was nice of her. The plane had entertainment services in the headrest. I chose to watch streaming on Netflix on my phone which made the flight feel brief.

Vancouver Airport

The Vancouver airport is nice, quaint and simple. The best way to describe it is minimalist with a nice artsy modern look.

Drive from Vancouver to Whistler

The drive from the airport to Whistler is a two-hour nice scenic drive. We rode in a Sprinter Limo with WiFi. The drive through Vancouver was not but when you make it out to the BC 99-North highway it is a smooth drive up. Be sure to follow the speed limit as we saw no less than 5-6 highway patrol that had pulled over motorist over on the way up to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

Beautiful very classy and sophisticated. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is an amazing hotel.

The rooms were amazing and the room service was the bomb

Pools and multiple hot tubs and staff to serve drinks. Multiple restaurants and bars

This is a great family-oriented hotel that is also dog-friendly. Upon arrival, I was amazed at the number of people that had dogs with them during check-in and throughout our stay.

Lost Lake

The views of Whistler are amazing, therefore It’s only right to take a nice hike and check out some of the lakes. Our lake of choice wasn’t too far from the hotel. Lost Lake is an easy hike and worth the trek.

No phones and no talking wasn’t so bad, allowing folks to be in the moment.

The locker rooms and showers were nice. We opted for a couples Swedish massage, for an hour. Shelly, asked for problems areas of focus and worked her magic. This is also a hydrotherapy facility with hot and cold tubs throughout the compound. All outdoors with a nice view of trees as far as the eyes can see. The facility also included tea stations and relaxation areas in addition to the saunas, steam rooms, and quiet rooms. In addition, there are two areas with hammocks. I enjoyed the entire experience but the nap in the hammock is definitely one of the highlights. There is also a nice cafe that has coffee, wraps and sandwiches for patrons. It was 4 hours well spent.
